Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin that helps in the absorption of calcium and helps in promoting bone growth. Recent studies, however have also linked this sunshine vitamin with the prevention of depression , improving immunity and the most sought-after thing that's weight loss.

But with the rise in the prevalence of deficiency of this vitamin , self medication with its supplements is also growing. Popping up vitamin D supplements without the advice of the doctor is not a good idea as Vit D is a fat soluble vitamin which doesn't get washed away in urine if taken in excess and therefore can lead to toxicity.

Here we are discussing few natural ways to improve your Vitamin D levels.

Sunlight Our body is synthesizes the much needed vitamin D when the skin is exposed to sunlight. The part of the sun's rays that is important is ultraviolet B.
Fatty Fishes especially  Tuna -Light tuna tends to have more Vitamin D and the oil-packed variety also retains more omega-3 fatty acids, protein and selenium(immunity booster)
Cod Liver Oil In addition to Vitamin D, it also delivers almost double your daily dose of vitamin A, an immune-boosting vitamin that good for heart and eye health.
Eggs One whole egg will give you about 40 IU. Vitamin D is actually in the yolk and not the egg whites?so having egg whites will not be helpful.
Mushrooms Only sun exposed mushrooms provides Vitamin D. Keep the mushroom in good sunlight for about an hour before cooking or consuming them. This is because they transform UV light into vitamin D

Known to be good for the eyes, carrots contain vitamin A that also improves hair growth. Sweet potatoes are also packed with beta-carotene that converts to vitamin A in our body.    Deficiency of vitamin A may lead to dry and itchy scalp. 6) Include almonds as biotin in almonds help stimulate hair growth 7) Vitamin C supports the absorption of iron in our body, the deficiency of which may lead to hair loss. Vitamin C is also known for its antioxidant properties which reduces the damage caused by free radicals that may make your hair brittle and weak. Add fruits like oranges, papaya, blueberries, lime and kiwi to your diet. Vitamin C also helps in the production of an essential protein called collagen which strengthens blood vessels that supports the hair shafts. 8) Dairy Products such as Milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs etc. are loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and  Omega 6 fatty acids. Dairy products are also a great source of biotin (Vitamin B7) that is known to fight hair loss. 9) Pulses are loaded with protein, iron, zinc, and biotin. They are full of folic acid which is necessary for restoring the health of red blood cells that supply oxygen to the scalp
